Jodi is proud to be a part of the Amani health care team. As a physiotherapist, Jodi's focus is on providing quality care within a multi-and inter-disciplinary team environment. As a physiotherapist with the successfull Real You program, Jodi has seen the impact on preventative care through corrective and appropriate exercise prescription and education as the critical part of our health care system. Jodi has a life-long commitment to continuing education in order to provide high quality services to all her clients.
Jodi received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of New Brunswick and a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from Queens University. Jodi went on to also pursue a Masters of Science in Epidemiology from the University of Ottawa and continues to incorporate the best available evidence into her practice on a day to day basis.
Prior to joining Amani Health, Jodi was part of the Occupational Health and Safety team at Bruyere Hospital and worked as a research scientist at the Public Health Agency and University of Ottawa, where much attention was dedicated to the etimology of cancer and impact of physical activity among high risk populations. She also has several years of experience as a personal trainer and strongly believes exercise is medicine. Jodi has a special interest for Women’s Health and is certified to perform Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy. This includes the treatment or prevention of urinary incontinence, as well as the skills to provide pre-and post-natal care. Jodi is also a certified concussion management provider and is certified to perform both dry needling and acupuncture. She has a very hands-on approach to treatment with a focus on education, manual therapy, biomechanics/motor control training, exercise prescription, and treating the root cause of the problem. When not working, Jodi maintains a very active lifestyle and enjoys hiking, running, skiing, golf, and weight lifting, and spending time with her friends and family.ding 1
